The Town of Hanover has lifted its precautionary boil water advisory.
The town had issued the advisory earlier this week, and says that resampling results show that the town’s water supply meets regulations from the Ministry of Health.
In a media release from the town, Mayor Sue Paterson says that a safe drinking water system is a priority, and that she has confidence in the town’s certified water technicians.
She says that because of the established systems in place, they were able to proactively issue the initial boil water advisory.
As a further precautionary step, users of municipal
systems are advised to do the following after a boil water advisory has been lifted:
– Run cold water faucets, drinking fountains and plumbed-in drink machines to flush the system before using the water.
– Remove, clean, disinfect and replace any aerators, screens or attachments on faucets.
– Replace any filter cartridges that can’t be adequately flushed or disinfected.
– Run water softeners through a regeneration cycle.
– Flush, clean and sanitize any other water-using fixture or equipment using manufacturers’ instructions
