A number of animals died in a barn fire in Carrick Township this morning.
South Bruce OPP say just before 8:30 this morning, they received a report of a large barn fire at an address on Concession 2.
They responded alongside paramedics and firefighters.
OPP say the investigation revealed that a fire had started inside the barn and spread quickly, fully engulfing the structure.
Some cattle, pigs, and sheep were housed in the barn. OPP say, according to the farm owner, most of the cattle were removed to safety. Some animals did, however die in the blaze.
No people were injured. OPP say the total monetary loss has yet to be determined.
The cause of the fire is being treated as non-suspicious.
Road closures were in place but have since been lifted.
