The Owen Sound Attack are back in the win column.
Sam McCue scored twice and Tristan Delisle had a goal and an assist, as the Attack downed the Sarnia Sting 5-2 in Ontario Hockey League action Wednesday evening at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
Landen Hookey and Antonio Tersigni also scored for the Attack (4-8-2-2), which ended an eight-game losing streak.
Ruslan Karimov had both goals for Sarnia (7-7-1-3).
The game was tied 2-2 after two, before Owen Sound broke out with three in the third to win it. It was the first time this season the Attack found a way to win when tied after 40 minutes. They were 0-2-1-1 in those close game situations prior to Wednesday.
Matthew Koprowski made 23 saves in the win, while Nick Surzycia stopped 38 taking the loss. The Attack outshot the Sting 43-25 while going 1 for 6 on the power play; Sarnia was 0 for 2.
Owen Sound’s five-game homestand continues Saturday evening against the Kitchener Rangers. It’s the annual Hockey Fights Cancer game at the Bayshore.
