A warning from police to check your children’s Halloween candy, after a disturbing discovery in a southern Grey County town.
Hanover Police say a report was received Monday evening about an embedded sewing needle found in a KitKat chocolate bar, after a child tried to eat it.
Thankfully, police say the child didn’t swallow the needle and wasn’t hurt.
Hanover Police say the candy bar was received while trick-or-treating on Halloween night, but the exact location it came from isn’t known. Police say initial information suggests it came from a south end subdivision in Hanover.
There have apparently been some other similar incidents reported to police across the province.
“Police investigators are aware that other police services have received similar reports in communities across Ontario,” Hanover Police say in a release.
Anyone with information about that could help this investigation is asked to contact Hanover Police or Crime Stoppers.
