A sad story out of Hanover, as the town’s police service says a 23-year-old woman has been charged after a four-month-old baby received treatment for serious injuries.
Police say they were called to investigate after a four-month-old baby was treated in the emergency department of the Hanover and District Hospital last Wednesday, Oct. 30. The baby was later airlifted to London in serious, but stable condition.
A 23-year-old woman from Northern Bruce Peninsula was arrested later that same day, and charged with assault causing bodily harm and failing to provide the necessities of life.
“The Hanover Police investigators also executed a search warrant an on area motel room related to the investigation,” police say in a release.
Hanover Police say the baby was released from hospital Saturday into the custody of Bruce Grey Child and Family Services. Thankfully, the baby is expected to make a full recovery.
