An Owen Sound man is charged in connection to a robbery at a west-side convenience store.
City Police say on October 28th, at about 9 p.m. a lone male entered the store and handed the clerk a letter demanding money.
According to police, the man then said it was a robbery and demanded the cash from the register.
After obtaining an undisclosed quantity of cash, he fled from the store.
The clerk, who was not physically harmed in the incident, contacted Owen Sound Police.
With assistance from area residents and businesses, police were able to secure video surveillance evidence of the suspect who they say was identifiable to several city police officers.
On October 30th, a patrolling Owen Sound police officer observed the accused walking on 14th Street West. After a brief foot pursuit, he was caught and arrested.
The 29-year-old Owen Sound man was charged with robbery, theft and failure to comply with a probation order. He made a court appearance on October 31st and was remanded into custody.
