A majority of people in Collingwood and the Town of the Blue Mountains are behind the idea of a shared recreation facility.
Both towns have hired consultants to explore the idea, and they’ve been busy conducting surveys, focus groups and interviews.
A recent presentation to both councils looked at the input so far.
It shows residents are looking for more recreational facilities and feel the current offerings have not kept up with growth.
And most people are in favour of building a joint recreation centre to meet the needs of both towns.
The results also show people are pretty happy with the library services in both communities and don’t really want any big changes to their library system.
The next step is to deliver a final report to both councils in December.
