Owen Sound Police say they have arrested a third man in relation to a robbery and weapons incident.
Police say on Aug. 30, members of the Owen Sound Police arrested the accused on an outstanding warrant following an assault on the city’s east side on Aug. 18.
Officers were called to an apartment parking lot after a man had been assaulted and was found unresponsive. The man was taken to Brightshores Owen Sound by EMS. His condition deteriorated and he was then airlifted to a hospital in London with life-threatening injuries.
Police had arrested and charged one man at the scene, and continued to investigate the incident.
Officers had found through their investigation that the victim had been assaulted, and two men had taken some of his belongings before running away. The victim then obtained an air pistol and chased the two suspects down before shooting out the windows of the vehicle they were in and shattering the glass on a bus shelter.
OPP found the vehicle at an industrial property on the city’s east side, and upon searching the vehicle found over $4,000 worth of methamphetamine and fentanyl, weapons, and other evidence.
On August 22nd, police arrested and charged a second suspect.
The third man was released from custody yesterday after making a bail court appearance. He has been given an October court date in Owen Sound.
