Bruce County is holding a Household Hazardous Waste Collection event this weekend in Sauble Beach.
The county says the event on Saturday at the Amabel Works Yard from 8 a.m. to noon with give people a chance to get rid of any hazardous waste which has been accumulating at home in an environmentally safe manner.
The event will accept items like paints, propane tanks, used oil, batteries, antifreeze, fertilizers, and more.
Commercial, agricultural, and industrial waste will not be taken, as well as PCB’s, ammunition, and flares.
Additionally, only containers with a volume of 30 litres of less with be accepted, and waste must be received in containers which can be disposed of. Containers will not be emptied and returned.
