Two people have been charged after OPP officers were alerted by their Automatic Licence Plate Reader (ALPR) while driving along.
Grey Bruce OPP say on Sunday, August 9th at 4:25 p.m., they were patrolling on Highway 21 near Chesley Lake Road when they received an ALPR alert for a suspended driver.
A traffic stop was initiated.
OPP say the driver, who was not the owner of the vehicle had a prohibited licence. They were arrested. Officers searched the vehicle and say they found cannabis, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and ecstasy.
A 28 year old Saugeen Shores woman was charged with driving while prohibited, driving under suspension, possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling, driving with cannabis readily available, three counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and failing to comply with a probation order.
A 34 year old Huron-Kinloss man was charged with possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of weapon, possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling, and three counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, disobeying a court order and failing to comply with a probation order.
