OPP across the province are urging motorcyclists and motorists alike to be alert, be cautious, and avoid risky driving behaviours following a spike in motorcyclist fatalities.
They say that 36 motorcyclists have died on OPP-patrolled roads this year, up from 23 fatalities from the same time last year.
Police also say that in half of the deaths recorded this year, the crashes were caused by driver decisions.
Five motorcyclist deaths have happened just in the first week of August, and twelve happened in July.
The main causes were excessive speed, improper passing, and loss of control.
