Hanover Police say three people have been arrested after responding to a report of a suspicious person and vehicle.
Police say on Wednesday at 7:20 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of 10th Street and 17th Avenue in Hanover.
Once on the scene, an officer found a wanted woman and two other men associated with a couple of suspicious vehicles.
It was found one of the men was wearing an ankle monitor and is currently serving a custodial sentence in the community for several criminal offences.
Police say the 34-year-old woman from Hanover was found in possession of carelessly stored ammunition as well as Ontario Drivers Licenses belonging to two other women.
Meanwhile the 30-year-old man from West Grey and the 32-year-old man of no fixed address were found with fentanyl valuing $25,000, cocaine valuing $14,000, methamphetamine valuing $10,000, heroin valuing $3,000, psilocybin or magic mushroom, dried cannabis, and suspected GHB, a date rape drug.
Additionally, police say officers also seized $1,000 in Canadian currency, a loaded BB gun resembling a handgun, counterfeit currency, and other evidence consistent with drug trafficking.
Officers also seized a 2017 Ford Mustang GT as offence related property.
As a result, the women is facing theft under $5,000, careless storage of ammunition, two counts of failing to comply with a release order, and two counts possession of identity documents.
The man from West Grey is charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, and possession of property obtained by crime.
The man of no fixed address, faces possession for the purposes of trafficking, two counts possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, and four counts of breach of probation.
All three suspects were held for a bail hearing and later remanded into custody.
Police Chief Chris Knoll says, “with the opioid crisis that is ongoing across Canada and the deaths that continue to mount daily in small towns and big cities everywhere, this seizure of fentanyl is significant and represents approximately 8,500 individual doses that will no longer harm citizens from our community and our great communities that surround us.”
