Georgian Bluffs is launching a survey for a new strategic plan and vision stretching to 2050.
Throughout the month, the township will be randomly-selecting 400 residents for a telephone survey through landlines and cell phones.
CAO Niall Lobley says this survey comes as the township is looking to refresh its strategic plan and vision.
“What is the long-term hope we have as a community, what we want Georgian Bluffs to be in 2050 and what steps will we be taking over the next four or five years as part of our new strategic plan to get toward that vision,” says Lobley.
He says the survey is not limited to any specific topics or ideas.
“We are really keen to hear from people as to what’s important about being in Georgian Bluffs, what makes this a great community to be part of, what makes it a great place to live, and what can the municipality do to help people feel that this is where they want to be,” says Lobley.
The survey is not limited to people who will be called, however, as people can also participate online on the Engage GB website here, with hard copies also available at the township office or community centres.
“This survey is an important tool for us to understand the priorities and vision of our community,” says Lobley.
Lobley says he expects the consultation process to wrap up over the summer, with draft ideas presented to council in the fall.
