Grey Highlands is awarding an over $925,000 contract for the reconstruction of Alice Street in Flesherton.
Council approved awarding the tender to MacDonnell Excavating Ltd. during a meeting on April 17.
This is the latest after the reconstruction of Alice Street was approved as part of the 2021 budget, with engineering drawings and tender documents for the project done in 2022.
The original 2021 reconstruction project was approved with a budget of just over $448,000. But in the 2024 budget, there was a request of an additional $1.1 million, bringing the total project budget up to over $1.6 million.
The municipality received seven bids for the reconstruction project, with MacDonnell being the least expensive.
The project is expected to begin in July and wrap up the beginning of September.
