An annual inspection report says there were no major issues with Saugeen Shores’ drinking water treatment systems in 2023.
Staff presented the annual inspection results to councillors March 25th.
They say there were no issues with drinking water quality standards, but one non-compliance incident was reported because of a watermain break on April 24th, 2023.
It was a ‘category 2’ watermain break which means contamination was a possibility. Staff say bacteriological sampling results came back safe.
The treatment system is operated The Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) in Saugeen Shores. The Ministry of the Environment Conservation and Parks (MECP) Inspection Report rated OCWA’s performance in the Town at 100 per cent.
