Northern Bruce Peninsula is adopting its 2024 budget, which comes with a combined tax increase — including county and education levies — of 6.15 per cent.
Council approved the budget during its meeting on March 11, and Treasurer Teresa Shearer says homeowners will be paying an additional $38.67 per $100,000 home assessment.
This comes after several issues were discussed at the reading of the second draft last month.
At that meeting, council removed the Development Charges Study and as the municipality did not purchase an excavator included in the 2023 budget, it was moved to this year.
Capital projects featured in the budget include over $5.2 million in road, transportation equipment, and various upgrade projects.
Some of which include a $1.1 million construction project along Isthmus Bay Road and $1 million for construction along 4th Concession and 10th Sideroad bridges.
The budget also includes $500,000 for services to the Tobermory sewer main.
Additionally, $4 million is being budgeted for the Lion’s Head Community Centre and Arena redevelopment project as council waits for more information.
