The Spruce The Bruce Program is now accepting applications from businesses in downtown areas that want to improve their curb appeal.
The program, which is from Bruce County’s Community Development Department, provides grant funding aimed at maintaining and revitalizing downtown businesses.
Last year, Spruce The Bruce awarded 76 grants, totaling $182,375.51.
The money went toward several different projects, including facade improvements, signage, and destination infrastructure.
Other grants went towards community marketing and business accessibility.
Spruce The Bruce also helped 11 downtown businesses in Kincardine over the summer after storefronts were vandalized, with the front windows of different stores being broken.
Those businesses were offered $1,000, with half coming from Bruce County and the other half from the Municipality in Kincardine to help with window replacements.
