A tough night for the Owen Sound Attack.
Michael Derbidge scored a pair of goals to help the Barrie Colts to a 7-3 win over the Attack in Ontario Hockey League action at Sadlon Arena Thursday night.
Zach Wigle, Roenick Jodoin, Jaiden Newton, Blair Scott and Beau Jelsma also scored for Barrie, which took a 3-0 lead in the first period.
Ben Cormier, Colby Barlow and Sam McCue scored for the Attack, which had a three-game winning streak snapped.
A key moment in the game came early in the first period. Konnor Smith scored on a point shot, but the play was reviewed for goaltender interference and the goal disallowed. That erased what would have been an early 1-0 lead for the Attack.
Barrie took it from there, scoring three times before the end of the first.
Sam Sedley had an assist in the game to set a new Owen Sound franchise record for most career assists by a defenceman. He now has 131 career helpers, one more than the previous record holder Santino Centorame.
Sam Hillebrandt made 38 saves in the win, while Corbin Votary stopped eight taking the loss. Matthew Koprowski entered the game early in the second period, stopping 26 of the 29 shots he faced in relief. Koprowski was making his OHL debut.
Shots on goal finished 41-41. The Attack were 1 for 4 on the power play, and allowed a short-handed goal against. Barrie didn’t have a power play opportunity.
Next up for the Attack (21-20-2-1) is back-to-back home games Saturday night and Sunday afternoon at the Bayshore, against the Flint Firebirds (17-23-2-1) and Guelph Storm (24-16-2-1).

The Attack were without goaltender Carter George Thursday night in Barrie. He was working his way back to the club after playing in the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Moncton, N.B., Wednesday. Koprowski was signed by the Attack and was the backup for Thursday’s game. He ended up making his OHL debut.
