It’s Winterfest weekend in Sauble Beach.
It starts Friday evening at 6 p.m. with a parade from the Sauble at the beach, sign up the hill to the community centre where the Winterfest activities will continue through Saturday.
At 7 p.m. Friday, the Sauble Firefighters annual Christmas tree bonfire will get underway. At the same time, a youth dance will get underway at the community centre until 9, and then it turns into a teen dance until 11 p.m.
At 8 p.m. Friday night, there’s trivia which is $100 per table (max 8 ppl) and can be signed up for on Eventbrite there are prizes for the winning team. There will be a cash bar.
Meanwhile, a silent auction will be underway which supports the Sauble-Amabel school’s grade 7/8 Alberta trip.
Saturday is filled with events as well. It starts with a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and is served by the Sauble Beach Lion’s Club.
Starting at 9 there’s a road hockey tournament.
At 11:30 there’s a barbecue that will have burgers, hot dogs chili, and cold drinks. It’s also a fundraiser for the local school Alberta trip.
There will be kids games organized by Pinewoods golf at starting at 12:30. There’s Euchre at 1 and a horse shoe tournament and horse and buggy rides from 1-3.
The big firefighters dance is set to go at 8 p.m. it will feature live music with Grey Road 1. tickets are $20.
Also on Saturday, the Sauble Ski Club has free skiing and snowshoeing. There will be hot dogs and apple cider at the trails.
