The Grey Bruce Farmers’ Week is back this January, showing off all things agriculture.
Coordinator Lorie Smith says this 58th annual event, organized by Grey Ag Services, is set to go between Jan. 3 and 9 at the Elmwood Community Centre.
The seven-day agricultural conference will include a trade show and speakers lined up for each designated day, which will start with beef day, dairy day, goat day, sheep day, horse day, ecological day, and crops day.
The speakers will address a range of topics including the impact on Ontario agriculture, disease control on your farm, and innovations and technologies supporting breeding goals.
“It’s a tremendous way to find out what’s going on in agriculture. People look forward to attending and it has an amazing roast beef meal and pies which is another thing people look forward to,” says Smith.
For those who are unable to make it to the annual event, livestreams and recordings will also be available.
“I am looking forward to seeing everyone again, looking forward to great attendance either in Elmwood or via livestreaming,” says Smith.
She adds this important conference provides farmers the chance to learn about new technology and market trends.
“There is a lot of people on the various days that come, if the weather is good, they come from afar because they value education. Winter time is a great time for producers to learn more about what’s new and this is why they come to Grey Bruce Farmers’ Week, to talk to agri businesses, to listen to the speakers,” says Smith.
