South Bruce OPP is welcoming a new cadet to the force.
Police say Cadet Hogan Allen, born and raised in Southern Bruce County, comes to the OPP after graduating from Kincardine District Secondary School, and Fanshawe College, where he completed the welding techniques program.
Cadet Allen aims to someday become a sworn police officer.
South Bruce OPP Detachment Commander Keegan Wilcox says, “although he hasn’t been with the detachment for long, he’s already established himself as a hard worker. With his education, skills and life experience, he has already demonstrated that he’s an asset to our members. It’s my pleasure to welcome Cadet Allen to the South Bruce OPP.”
Police say the cadet program focuses on enhancing the career development and experience of future OPP police constable candidates. Cadets help frontline officers with administrative duties and engagement with the community by supporting crime prevention and public safety initiatives.
