Lucknow has a new Elevated Water Tower.
The Township of Huron-Kinloss says this recently completed project is an initiative aimed at enhancing water storage capacity, and keeping the drinking water in Lucknow safe.
This new tank will provide increased water pressure for all Lucknow water system customers, increased emergency storage and will accommodate future growth in the community.
“With the project completion, the township can actively address housing development and infrastructure needs,” says the township.
The township was able to secure a significant portion from the federal government in grant funding in 2022 to help cover the $5.26 million project. The remaining portion was covered through water reserves.
The new water tower was commissioned in November and the demolition of the historic standpipe began on Nov. 20.
The project was completed on time for December.
