Deni Goure has been named the Owen Sound Attack player of the week.
The team issued a news release recognizing the overage centre, who scored three goals in Owen Sound’s first two games. He scored the only two goals during Owen Sound’s 4-2 loss to the Guelph Storm at the Sleeman Centre last Friday to open the Ontario Hockey League season. Then Goure added another goal in the Attack’s 4-2 win over the Barrie Colts Saturday night in the home opener at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
Goure, 20, is one of four overage players currently on the Attack roster. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound centre was originally a first-round pick of Owen Sound in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection.
The Attack are off a few days until their next game Friday on the road against the Kitchener Rangers. You can hear the game live on 560 CFOS with Kia of Owen Sound-Terry’s Trailer Service Bearadio.
Saturday, Owen Sound hosts the Erie Otters. Then they close out a busy Thanksgiving long weekend with a holiday Monday trip to North Bay to face the Battalion.
