Kincardine Council has given approval for municipal staff to move forward with the updated Water and Wastewater Master Plan.
Director of Infrastructure and Development Adam Weishar says that the purpose of the plan is to ensure that the municipality is planning ahead, and to “Start developing a vision and capital plan, and to get ahead of development needs within the community. So through that, there has been substantial investment over the last four or five years.”
Weishar says that some projects from the previous Master Plan were completed, and council will have another project before them in August.
“We have a project that will be coming for council consideration, and that’s upgrades to the Durham Street Pumping Station.”
He says that the project is a reflection of capacity needs and growth opportunities.
Staff is also working on other plans for the future, namely to connect Tiverton and Waterford.
That report is expected to be presented to council to consider within the next few months.
