Billy Bishop Museum in Owen Sound is inviting everyone to Billy Bishop Heritage Fest this weekend.
It’s a free, open house to view exhibits including Ground Truth: Stories of Canada’s War in Afghanistan, which includes stories from local veterans of the war as well maps and other items.
A release from the museum, which is in the home where WWI flying ace Billy Bishop was born, says, “Kids can fly into the clouds with their imagination in the newly constructed activity room featuring a life size Newport cockpit, drawing table, and a scavenger hunt.”
Outside, there will be local artisan and craft vendors from the local community, $5 per person cash barbecue, and live music performed by Marshall Veroni.
The local Canadian Armed Forces reservists, the Grey and Simcoe Foresters will also be there to showcase their equipment.
The event is set to take place from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 17th.
