The Township of Huron-Kinloss is lifting its lawn watering and car washing ban following the maintenance of the Lakeshore water system.
The township says residents may return to normal usage of water, but to remember a by-law remains in effect from June 1 to Sept. 15, which outlines lawns can be watered according to a schedule.
This includes, even numbered properties may water on even numbered days and odd number properties may water on odd numbered days. Additionally, watering hours are restricted to between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., except for properties with automatic sprinkler systems. Properties with automatic sprinkler systems are restricted to watering between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m.
The by-law does not, however, apply to newly planted lawns for a period of 30 days from installation.
The affected area spans from the Ashfield-Huron Townline in the south to Saratoga Road in the north, as well as to the Lake Huron shoreline in the west to Lake Range Drive in the east. This also applies to users on the Ashfield-Huron Townline to Amberley and users in the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh on Amberley Beach Road.
