Bruce and Grey counties are under a rainfall warning today.
Environment Canada advises up to 50 millimetres of downpour is possible as the region gets soaked with heavy rain and thunderstorms.
“A Colorado low is expected to bring rain, at times heavy, and thunderstorms to the area. Precipitation is expected to begin as freezing rain or ice pellets for areas east of Georgian Bay before changing to rain later this morning. The heaviest rain is expected this morning through the afternoon,” the advisory from Environment Canada says.
Forecasters advise heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
“Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts,” the weather alert explains.
