The Municipality of Kincardine will be giving their support to Rogers Wireless to add a cell phone tower in Kincardine.
The 25-metre tall slimpole telecommunication tower is proposed to be installed at 260 Saratoga Road.
The company says that the proposed site location at Saratoga Road was chosen as it will achieve the “necessary engineering coverage objectives for their network.”
Rogers says that the chosen location would be able to provide a stronger signal, which would give local residents more reliable service to contact necessities, such as EMS.
The chosen property is zoned M1, which means it’s zoned for General Industrial development.
The company says that the tower would also be protected by fencing, and would be at least 75m away from any residences.
The project is subject to approval under Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada (ISED).
As part of the regulation, Rogers is required to notify the municipality of the project but wanted to get a written letter of support.
