The 57th annual Grey Bruce Farmers’ Week is set to get underway today.
The agricultural community is descending on the Elmwood Community Centre for seven days of exhibits and presentations. All of the in-person addresses by speakers on various topics will also be available via livestream.
Farmers’ Week kicks off with Beef Day today. There are several keynote speakers covering a wide range of issues geared towards beef farmers. The first schedule speaker is Dr. Jordan Thomas, cow-calf specialist at the University of Missouri. He will talk about the “silent killer” of cow-calf profitability at 10 a.m.
A Beef Farmers of Ontario Industry update, a talk on the opportunity of carbon farming and farm succession planning are among the other topics on Day 1.
Tomorrow is Dairy Day at Grey Bruce Farmers’ Week. There will be a different focus daily until the event wraps up next Tuesday, Jan. 10.
