The City of Owen Sound is holding a family event at the Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre (JMRRC) on New Year’s Eve.
The city says in partnership with the YMCA Bruce Grey Owen Sound at the JMRRC, they will be hosting the New Year’s Family Celebration on Dec. 31 from noon to 4 p.m.
Public skating will be offered from 12 to 2 p.m. on both ice pads, with open swimming at the YMCA from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., as well as between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. There will also be groove dancing with Tyler Boyle, which starts at 2 p.m.
From noon until 4 p.m., children will be able to check out Tech Toys from the Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library.
Attendees will also have the chance to build cub cars with Scouts Canada, as well as decorate cookies, have open gym time, and crafts.
People can also take a New Years photo in a photo booth, watch Edward the Juggler, and take home a balloon creation.
