The Barrie Police Service will join police services across Canada and light a tree of hope today, to bring awareness to missing and murdered Indigenous women.
The tree, which was donated by the City of Barrie will be lit with over a thousand lights, representing the thousands of missing and murdered Indigenous women in Canada.
There will be a smudging ceremony with guest speakers and the tree lighting starting at 4 this afternoon.
It’s at Barrie Police Headquarters on Fairview Road.
