The temporary closure of the Durham hospital emergency department is being extended tonight.
The South Bruce Grey Health Centre says the department will be closed tonight at 5 p.m. and reopen at 7 a.m. on Nov. 13.
The SBGHC says all efforts to find staffing for the department have been taken without success.
Ambulances will begin diverting patients to the nearest open emergency department at 5 p.m.
Anyone needing emergency services are advised to call 911, and non-urgent health care needs can be addressed by calling Health Connect Ontario at 811.
The closest emergency departments to Durham are in Hanover, Mount Forest, Markdale, Walkerton, Owen Sound, and Palmerston.
