The GOST bus that runs daily between Owen Sound and Guelph is undergoing a slight schedule change.
The morning departure from Guelph Central Station for the northbound route to Owen Sound will now leave at 10:40 a.m.
City officials say the change will better accommodate riders connecting to the Owen Sound area from GO Transit service in Guelph.
“This change is in response to customer requests from visitors looking to travel to Owen Sound from the Greater Toronto Area,” a statement from the city explains. “It will allow for more convenient transfers to GOST from GO Transit, bringing tourists to visit Owen Sound and the rest of Grey County, and providing better access for riders to connect from other communities.”
The GOST bus runs seven days a week along the Highway 6 corridor between Owen Sound and Guelph, with stops in Chatsworth, Williamsford, Durham, Mount Forest, Arthur, Fergus and Elora.
It takes about two hours and 45 minutes for a one-way trip between Owen Sound and Guelph.
Owen Sound received funding from the Ontario government’s Community Transportation Grant Program to operate the service until 2025.
