Bruce Telecom is donating $50,000 to the Lamont Sports Park Illuminating Dreams Fundraising Campaign.
The local company says it plans to ensure WIFI will be available at the park.
Bruce Telecom will have 20-year naming rights to one of the park’s six new baseball diamonds.
Mayor Luke Charbonneau and Fundraising Campaign Co-Chair Rob Stanley were both on hand for the cheque presentation.
Charbonneau says, “Bruce Telecom continues to demonstrate their commitment to being an excellent corporate citizen,” adding, “Their generous donation has not only given the campaign a significant boost, but it will also ensure the Lamont Sports Park will have WIFI services for players and spectators.”
Rob Stanley says, “Bruce Telecom has rural roots, and they help people connect. It’s very fitting they are making such a generous donation to the development of a rural community hub where people will connect well into the future.”
Bruce Telecom President and CEO says in a statement, “Together Everyone Achieves More (T.E.A.M)’, couldn’t be more accurate here,” adding “We believe in community support and have always been active in lending a hand, giving back, and doing our small part simply because it feels right. We are thrilled to be a part of this project.”
Phase 2 of the park development will include two youth baseball fields and an accessible playground. This will add to the four baseball diamonds built in Phase 1.
On Saturday June 4th, the community is invited to a first viewing of the park, to celebrate the completion of Phase 1 and to help launch the public fundraising campaign.
