Huntsville OPP has now arrested and charged three people with several offenses, following a traffic stop that turned up drugs and a rifle.
Wednesday at 7:38 am police initiated a traffic stop on West Rd.
A passenger in the car they stopped, Taylor Sovereign, who police say was wanted for bail violations, fled on foot leaving the driver and one other occupant.
Central Region OPP, Canine Unit with Central Region OPP Emergency Response Team, and Huntsville Detachment members searched but didn’t find the suspect.
Police located and seized a number of controlled substances, however, and a 30-06 caliber rifle from the car.
The following two people have been charged:
25-year-old Kathleen Van Duzen of Lake of Bays faces the following charges:
– Possession of a schedule 1 substance- crack cocaine
– Possession of a schedule 1 substance- cocaine
– Unauthorized possession of a firearm
– Possession of a firearm obtained by crime
– Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
22-year-old Kali Lebrun of Bracebridge faces the following charges:
– Possession of a schedule 1 substance- crack cocaine
– Possession of a schedule 1 substance- cocaine
– Unauthorized possession of a firearm
– Possession of a firearm obtained by crime
– Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
The two accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear on March 29th in Huntsville court.
Sovereign, (in main photo) was later located by OPP and arrested on March 4th
He was held for a bail hearing scheduled for today to answer to the following charges:
– Possession of a schedule 1 substance- crack cocaine
– Possession of a schedule 1 substance- cocaine
– Unauthorized possession of a firearm
– Possession of a firearm obtained by crime
– Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
– Possess a firearm while prohibited from doing so
– Did escape from lawful custody
– Two counts of failure to comply with conditions of release order
