West Grey Police are warning about a scam that claims your bank account is frozen.
They say on Twitter, “Police, Canada Border Services, RCMP, Canada Revenue Agency will NEVER contact you by phone or email seeking your SIN number, banking information or have you click on a link.”
Police say, if your bank account has been ‘frozen’ for any reason – go directly to your bank.
Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MP Alex Ruff noted earlier this week, he had received some reports from residents in the area about scam calls like this, where scammers were pretending their victim’s account was frozen under the Emergencies Act for donating to anti-mandate protests.
The Emergencies Act was revoked Wednesday afternoon.
