It’s Pink Shirt Day.
The event, which is also called Anti-Bullying Day, first began in 2007.
That’s when students in Nova Scotia rallied behind a male classmate, who was bullied for wearing pink to school.
Pink Shirt Day falls on the last Wednesday of February every year and this year’s theme is Lift Each Other Up, celebrating our country’s diversity.
It's #PinkShirtDay, a day to raise awareness & stand up against #bullying. This year's theme #LiftEachOtherUp speaks to the importance of supporting residents as they embrace their cultures, identities, & true selves more openly.
