The weekend is always crammed with sporting events, but this past weekend was one for the books.
The Winter Olympics in Beijing were a swirl of activities.
The Super Bowl in Los Angeles was won by the LA Rams who beat the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20
Cooper Kupp had 2 touchdowns for the Rams and was named as the Super Bowl MVP
The Glenn Howard rink won the Port Elgin Chrysler ’22 Ontario Tankard Presented by Bruce Power
Howard went 6 & 1 over 5 days at the Ontario Men’s Curling Championship at The Plex, climaxing with a 5-3 win ion the final over John Epping.
Epping led 3-1 after 2 ends but Howard remained patient, tied it in the 7th and followed with single markers in the 9th & 10th ends.
The Glenn Howard rink will now represent Ontario at the Tim Hortons Brier March 4th-13th in Lethbridge, Alberta
Felix Auger Aliassime won his first ATP title beating Stefanos Tsitsipas to capture the Rotterdam event.
And of course there was all kinds of hockey including the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks tying their WOAA Senior Hockey playoff series with Tavistock.
But that was last weekend and we’re well into another week which includes the Owen Sound Attack hosting Barrie tonight.
Great weekend, busy week ahead.
For Pete’s Auto Body, I’m Fred Wallace.
