Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, proudly sponsored by Pete’s Auto Body.
Pete’s Auto Body; because we care about our community.
Day after day for the better part of 2 years, there has been uncertainty in our lives pertaining to what we can & what we can’t do, along with what we can do….. as long as we do it in a certain fashion or follow certain procedures.
It’s agonizing, it’s agitating, it’s annoying, and it’s many other descriptive words beyond those starting with the letter ” A “.
Imagine you’re the Port Elgin Curling Club and you’ve put in countless hours creating what you believe will be an outstanding Ontario Men’s Curling Championship with major benefits to your club and community on many levels.
But no matter how much preparation you’ve done, there’s still a large amount of uncertainty as the calendar turns day-by-day towards the opening matches scheduled for February 9th.
Will you be able to host the Port Elgin Chrysler ’22 Ontario Tankard Presented by Bruce Power with full capacity ?
….With 50 % capacity ?
…Or will you be directed to create a bubble and live stream the event to the thousands who want to watch the Tankard, but due to……..well, you know the rest of the sentence.
The only certainty to emerge was a status update this week from the local Steering Committee who confirmed they have requested from CurlOn the right to host the Tankard again in 2023.
