The Town of Saugeen Shores is hosting a live virtual event about how to measure your carbon footprint.
It’s hosted by the Town’s Environmental Sustainability Ad Hoc Committee in partnership with Project Neutral and with the support of the Nuclear Innovation Institute.
It’s called, ‘Making a Difference One Person at a Time: Measuring Your Carbon Footprint,’ and is scheduled for Wednesday. January 19th from 7 to 8 p.m.
A release from the Town says, “As the effects of climate change become clear both locally and around the globe, the public is invited to learn about the role of their personal carbon footprints and how they can influence positive change.”
Mayor Luke Charbonneau is a panelist in the event. He says in a statement, “This is an opportunity for the public to learn about climate change and how your actions can have an impact.”
The event will feature a group of panelists as well as a presentation on climate change, and will discuss what people can do to lower their carbon footprints.
You can register for the virtual event by visiting www.SaugeenShores.ca/CarbonFootprintEvent.
The Nuclear Innovation Institute’s Chad Richards says, “We all have a role to play in our effort to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050,” adding, “Measuring personal and household carbon footprints can be a meaningful exercise that sheds light on how our individual activities contribute to the challenge we face while highlighting the influence that we have as consumers to make a difference.”
