Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation’s campaign to Bring Tom to Town is receiving community support.
The foundation says the campaign received a boost from local realtor Doug Johnston from Royal Lepage DC Johnston Realty.
Johnston not only made a $1,000 donation through the foundation’s recent fundraising radithon, but has also pledged to match any realtor donations up to $20,000.
The foundation says Johnston’s call did no go unanswered, as three other local realtors took part, to which Johnston cashed a cheque for $4,650.
Johnston also further pledged to donate $20,000 over four years for the CT scanner campaign.
Johnston says, “at Royal Lepage DC Johnston Realty we believe in giving back to the community and I can think of no better way than supporting the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation and their Bring Tom to Town Computed TOMography (CT) scanner project. Quality healthcare is one of the most important things people look for when relocating to a community. We are proud to be a supporter.”
The $3 million campaign kicked off in late October, and already the fundraising has brought in just over $1 million.
