The Sauble Beach Medical Centre building has been sold.
In a release, the Town of South Bruce Peninsula says it’s pleased to advise it has purchased 672 Main Street, Sauble Beach (Medical Centre building).
The Town says the Bannister family donated the property in 2007 for a medical clinic. It was recently listed on the open market prompting the Town to acquire the property with the aim of securing long-term medical services for the community.
The sale price has not yet been disclosed.
The Town says it will work closely with Bruce County EMS, with the intent to build an ambulance bay at the facility to further enhance public safety in the Sauble Beach area.
The Town will purchase the Medical Centre Building through long-term debt financing and use revenues obtained from leaseholders to offset the financing costs.
Mayor Janice Jackson says in a statement, “Access to healthcare in a rural community can be challenging, we are so fortunate to have a medical centre that can serve our residents while covering the debenture costs through lease payments.”
