Members of Wasaga Beach council have met with artists from Future Day-the company that created a new mural on Main Street.
It’s located at the home of the Wasaga Beach Archives and features images significant to the town.
The mural includes a backdrop of the sun, the beach and a sand castle, which is merged with both the summer beach and winter snow.
Within the mural, the artists used silhouettes of popular activities, including paddle boarding, cross country skiing, and children playing on the beach.
It also features wildlife associated with the area like plovers and monarchs, with bubbles floating throughout, showing key scenes from the past, such as the HMS Nancy, Capstan Inn, the original VanVlack Bridge, the Trail of the Caribou plane, a scene from the war of 1812 and a scene representing indigenous people of this land.
