The Owen Sound Junior B NorthStars Lacrosse Club has been active over the last week and are preparing for a busy segment of action over the next 45 days or so.
Tonight at the JD McArthur Arena, the Junior Stars will host their third session of skills and drills and then starting Thursday they’ll have an opportunity to put those skills to good use.
Thursday night in Owen Sound, the NorthStars are scheduled to host the Guelph Regals at 8 pm
That will be followed by a junket to Port McNicoll on Saturday afternoon for a unique matchup against Orillia.
Sunday, Owen Sound will head south for a tournament at Puslinch.
Looking further ahead, Owen Sound will host Elora and possibly entertain another exhibition game in the city before hitting the road for games at Fergus, Puslinch again and then have a neutral site home game against the Orangeville Northmen at the Durham Arena on August 26th.
Based on the schedule that’s been drawn up, the Junior NorthStars will conclude their abbreviated season with a tournament scheduled for September 11th.
The interesting aspect of the September 11th tournament is that the NorthStars are scheduled to be the host team and the games will be played at Cape Croker.
It’s not perfect, it’s not traditional, but nothing has been that way for the past year & a half, so this tiny stretch of lacrosse for the Jr. B Club will be almost therapeutic and set the stage, hopefully, for a normal Junior Lacrosse season in 2022.
For Pete’s Auto Body, I’m Fred Wallace.
