The latest Show ‘N Go Classic Car Cruise has raised over $1,500 in donations for Crime Stoppers Grey Bruce.
A release notes the event on Aug. 1 had a large turnout of over 160 classic cars drive up the peninsula, with vehicles gathering from across southern Ontario.
The vehicles started in various locations like Owen Sound, Wiarton, Lion’s Head, Sauble Beach, and Saugeen Shores for a shotgun start, ending the day at the Wiarton Keppel International Airport.
One of the organizers of the event, Dave Middleton says while the rainy weather cut down on the number of cars participating, he is still proud of how may were able to show up and the donations raised.
“Very proud of what this event has been able to do over the last couple of years, in helping a very important organization and entertaining some people on the Bruce Peninsula, who may have just been looking for something to do on a damp day,” says Middleton.
The third fund raising event cruise, titled the Fall Colour Tour, is set for Sept. 26 and will travel around Georgian Bay.
“It is one of the more popular tours, again weather related. We hope we get a really nice warm weekend, because there really is no better view than when you are traveling along the top of the escarpment and you get ready to come down one of the hills towards Georgian Bay,” says Middleton.
Further details will be posted on the Sunset Cruisers Facebook page.
