The City of Owen Sound is undergoing its transit study to review its current operations.
A release notes the study is looking at the existing fixed-route system, route coverage, ridership, on time performance, infrastructure perspectives, as well as other elements to identify the core service delivery of local transit.
To assist with this study, Owen Sound is seeking the input of its residents as part of a two-part engagement process. Featuring two rounds of virtual stakeholder and residential engagement sessions and questionnaires, the first round was held in the middle of June, with the second round underway.
This part of the process is looking at collecting feedback and preferences on the service and supporting elements, and the culminating viewpoints will assist the city in determining various other models for delivering transit to residents.
The two virtual sessions will be held on Aug. 4 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Aug. 5 from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
If you are interested in taking part, you can either email transitstudy@lura.ca, including your full name, email and address, or by visiting the City of Owen Sound website.
