Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “,….. proudly sponsored by Pete’s Auto Body.
Pete’s Auto Body; because we care about our community….
We live in a state of confusion, don’t we ?
This isn’t criticism, it’s simply a man in his 60s living in a pandemic who really can’t connect the sporting dots, because the dots are very scattered
The Toronto Blue Jays waited, and waited and was finally granted what was called a ” National Interest Exemption ” by the federal government which will allow Major League Baseball to be played at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
The Blue Jays were approved to have up to 15,000 fans at games this summer,
Meanwhile in Major League Soccer, both Toronto FC and FC Montreal were permitted to come home and host games at BMO Field and Saputo Stadium over the weekend.
Capacity for BMO Field was 7,000
Yet, in Vancouver the Whitecaps remained sequestered in Utah for their game Saturday and the scheduled match midweek.
And then there’s the Winnipeg Blue Bombers who were granted permission from Manitoba health authorities to have full capacity of 33,500 for their home opener, which albeit, isn’t until August 5th against Hamilton.
…………15,000 for Baseball
…………..7,000 for soccer
…………..& 33,500 for Canadian Football
You can see how muddled the stew is as it relates to how many can attend what and where on the Canadian sporting landscape.
For Pete’s Auto Body, I’m Fred Wallace.
