Ward 1 residents in Kincardine have a new representative at the council table.
Andrea Clarke of Kincardine was voted to the post unanimously at a special meeting council.
Clarke, a practicing lawyer in downtown Kincardine, tells council her interest in local politics is not something new..
She says before 2018 when she, her husband and their 3 children moved to Kincardine, she was very much involved in municipal politics in the United Kingdom.
Clarke tells Kincardine councillors she believes that she could draw on her practical and academic experience to assist council in future challenges.
She says working out of downtown Kincardine, she sees the challenges and hardships some businesses are facing due to the Covid pandemic.
Clarke would like one of the “core thoughts” of council to be supporting businesses through the current challenging times.
The other candidate in the running for the seat was Jeremy Albisser of Inverhuron.
Clarke replaces Gerry Glover who left the post to become Mayor of Kincardine after the sudden resignation of Anne Eadie.
