We’re talking racing today in 2 vastly different forms.
Already well underway is a Bruce Trail run for Owen Sound resident Steve Kenny.
Kenny who got rolling at 4 am this morning is running from the Niagara region to Tobermory hoping to establish a new Fastest Known Time record for travelling the trail.
The existing record of 9 days, 17 hours, 2 minutes & 25 seconds was established last year by John Harrison Pockler.
Among the unique aspects of Steve Kenny’s record attempt is that he’s running North toward Tobermory rather than South which most runners prefer, plus, the run is also designed to raise awareness for Eat Local
Grey Bruce.
Meanwhile in horse racing, the 2021 season at Hanover Raceway officially opens tomorrow afternoon with a 1:30 pm start.
No fans are permitted on the site, but you can view the races and bet on the races through various media platforms.
From Niagara to Tobermory over the next 9 days for Steve Kenny and twice around the half mile oval at Hanover Raceway.
Those are 2 very different but significant activities this weekend.
