Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce is lending a hand to three classic car cruises coming to the region this summer and fall.
According to a Crime Stopper release, the cruises will see tours of classic car hobbyists from across south western Ontario.
The upcoming event dates are:
-June 27, Bruce County Cruise, driving around Saugeen Shores, Sauble Beach, Chesley, Point Clark, and Kincardine.
-Aug. 1, Bruce Peninsula Cruise, visiting Wiarton Sauble Beach, Saugeen Shores and Lion’s head.
-Sept. 26, Grey County Colour Cruise, passing through Owen Sound, Wiarton, Sauble Beach, and Saugeen Shores.
Architect of the event Morley Lymburner notes, to help these drivers find their way around the area, volunteers from Crime Stoppers will be handing out a detailed route map to each driver as well as an invitation to make a free-cash-donation towards Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce to to help subsidize their reduced revenues due to restrictions on their normal events..
“At the beginning of last year the entire world came to a halt. It was discovered how cruel a master of our lives one virus could be and we all had to take radical steps to curb its spread. For classic care collectors and hobbyists it meant wholesale cancellation of long planned-for, and eagerly anticipated, car shows. Many car owners felt the sense of loss for these opportunities to drive their cherished vehicles and show others the pride they have in those curiosities on wheel,” says the release.
In addition to driving around Grey Bruce, depending on the weather and the Covid situation at the time, the release notes it is hoped, if during the last event will allow for a physically distanced meet and greet at the Wiarton Kepple International Airport and the Grey Roots Museum.
Being rain or sunshine events, the routes may be subject to change, more details can be viewed on the Sunset Cruisers Facebook page.
